Today's recs come to you from the magical world of BBC's Merlin. I have a deep fondness for Morgana and felt that the show did wrong by her in so many ways. One of those was not giving her a happy ending with Merlin. Here's a couple of canon-divergent fics that change that.

Why This Must Be Read: This story is built on the AU notion of Morgana being captured by Arthur during the final season, rather than all that death. Over time, she heals and builds a lovely connection with Merlin. This is a fixit fic of the first order - it's a bit agressive in fixing everything in sight - and so in contrast to the sadness that was the end of Merlin, it offers a sweet, fluffy, happy ending for all.

Why This Must Be Read: This takes an old trope - arranged marriage - and uses Uther's habit of making ridiculous proclaimations to put Morgana and Merlin together way back in episode one. With canon happening in the background, Morgana adapts to her new life and finds happiness in a sweet, slow dance towards a beautiful alternative future. It sounds like a truly crazy AU premise, but this is a perfectly charming Merlin story to soothe any Mergana shipper's heart.
