Both of these fics are by the same author, take place post-Endgame and actually have some of the same secondary characters in both, but they are standalone stories.

Genre: angst, romance
WIP?: no

Why This Must Be Read: This is Khaleesi's take on the 'stuck-in-a-tubolift' trope that can single-handedly support this pairing. But I promise you've never read an interpretation like this. Taking place 10 months after Voyager gets home, it catches up with our starcrossed lovers who are now estranged and kind of hate each other. A series of happenstance turbolift meetings force them to deal with each other. Its heartbreaking, omg will your heart break for these two, Young_Khaleesi just keeps throwing the angst at you in such a believable and honest way. It ends up being a remarkable character study of these two people and how they are their own worst enemies. There is a happy ending, but the angst and tears to get you there is really the joy of this story.

Why This Must Be Read: I've had this very long story (over 72000 words) loaded on my phone and I read a few chapters in bed each night before I went to bed....but last night I stayed up way too late finishing this epic. Its AMAZING. Like the other story, this catches up with the Voyager crew 10 months after they get home and Janeway/Chakotay are estranged. This story is packed full of angst and romance as these two manage to get their crap together all while there is this quadrant-spanning political mystery tying the story together. While I was swept up in the romance, its the primary action plotline that really gets you. There's double-crosses and several swept-the-rug-out-from-under-you moments. Plus there's Janeway creating a whole heck of a mess with the Temporal Prime Directive (and we all love that right). The secondary characters are wonderfully created, she creates an entire believable world in this epic story.
