Why This Must Be Read: The author wrote this in the direct aftermath of “Lauren” and it is exactly the type of fic that I needed to read after the episode aired. It’s almost exactly what I wish I had seen on the show - Spencer’s hesitation, his obsessive analytical ways, him finally realizing the truth for himself. The author’s Reid is flawless - his quirks, language, and personality are all present in every word and that is something that is hard to emulate in fic. If you are looking for a good post “Lauren” fic that packs a punch, this is it.

Why This Must Be Read: If you are looking for Criminal Minds fic that is even remotely shippy and perfectly on-key l3petitemort is the author for you. I have loved every single thing she’s produced for this fandom (even those including characters and/or pairings I am not so crazy about) but this is by far my favorite. It’s fluff (and clichéd holiday fluff on top of it) but it’s the type of fluff that makes you sigh with contentment, not cringe with disgust. Even when she takes these two character completely out of their element, they remain perfectly in character.

Why This Must Be Read: I’ve always been a fan of this author and when I found out she had written Criminal Minds fic, I just about died of happiness. It was this fic that actually convinced me that this pairing was even remotely plausible - both in fandom and canon. The language is beautiful and angsty, the imagery is breathtaking, and the writing will blow you away.
