Why This Must Be Read: This is a bit less silly than the other two I will be reccing but it still has a happy ending and is just gorgeous. There is a tension in the poetical sense of the prose and the plot where we know Morgana is teetering on the edge of darkness and that it is all just this close to ending tragically and the whole piece is absolutely brimming with this beauty and this tension that so suits these characters. The last scene as well is especially beautiful and is even tenser than the rest of the story. It is also filled with fantastic imagery that just makes your heart ache with love for these kids. And individual scenes Morgana has with both Gwen and Arthur are really important and add to the story and Morgana's characterization and her path in this story.

Why This Must Be Read: IT IS AMAZING. This story gets a lot of quotes 'cause it is rather long (which means you can spend so much happy time here!) and so I feel I can share without spoiling too much of the amazing where as the other two are shorter so I don't want to end up copying and pasting the whole thing.
But back to the story: first THE SHIPPY IS SO PRECIOUS.
But Morgana tells him she likes the way his neck smells, and she likes the feel of his shoulders and she likes the nooks in his collar bones and the way his lips go when he smiles. She says those things and Merlin forgets to be terrified that this will end, that she’s way out of his league, that Arthur is going to beat him to a pulp if he ever finds out - and instead his stomach gets warm and he wants to kiss her. He thinks oh god, I think I’m in love with you - which is insane because all they ever do is fuck. And sometimes they talk about stupid random stuff like the weather or sushi, when they catch each other in the kitchen or the hall; before sex; after.
Merlin is so adorably Merlin and silly and adorable and precious. Morgana is half scared and all beauty and confidence and perfectly lovely and I kind of fell in love with her more through this story. Gwen's description of her is probably what killed me the most: “Morgana Pendragon? Tall, gorgeous, gothic - looks like a vampire had sex with Keira Knightly? That Morgana?” And they are just beautiful together and we see the way they grow it is fantastic and slightly takes the characters off guards and it is perfect.
Second all of the relationships and characters are perfectly interpreted for their new surroundings. I would love to copy/paste all of the Gwen and Merlin interactions 'cause they're lovely I will however restrain myself to the one.
Okay, now he’s very, very tempted to call Arthur for help. Condoms don’t necessarily mean that he’s having sex - just that he’s preparing for it. Arthur will laugh at him for being clueless but he might actually be of some use.
Except… except…
He calls Gwen.
Gwen at least has the decency to cover the phone whilst she laughs at him, which he appreciates.
“Oh God, Merlin…” she sighs, after she’s regained some composure, “okay - look, just get the normal kind - no… you know, extras. There should be like a Boots own brand - they’re fairly reliable and should be cheap, okay?”
“Yeah but… they come in sizes….”
“…and?”
“Well - how do you - you know - tell…”
“I don’t know, Merlin! I don’t have male genitalia!”
And Arthur is perfectly prattish and lovely. The background Arthur/Gwen is adorable, and Hunith and Gaius both make hilarious (especially Gaius) cameos.

Why This Must Be Read: netgirl_y2k is quite good at being absolutely hilarious. And this piece is no exception. The Merlin/Morgana interaction is top notch as well. They pair up to save Arthur (which I've been hoping to see in the show, even if it is unwilling I WANT MY BUDDY COP EPISODE) and are hilarious and save him in their own distinct ways while still working together and it is brilliant.
This is from earlier on so Merlin is still rather afraid of Morgana as the King's Ward and it creates some hilarious moments of embarrassment and worry on his part. Random bits Arthur comes up with to mock the things they do to cover up their magic sessions really make it, and the ending is absolutely priceless and perfect, and I would be quite happy if the show was this funny and adorable. The background Arthur/Gwen is also rather perfect.
