Why This Must Be Read: This story is for my paper rec, due to both the origami dog in the fic and the postcard that makes a notable appearance at the end. I love the book The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks, and the general lack of fic for it is a tragedy; luckily the fic that does exist is great. This fic takes place after the novel and looks at Frankie and Alpha in their college years and beyond. It uses the tone and style of the novel beautifully, it involves spies, and most importantly, it involves Frankie continuing to be a genius - what more could you want?

Why This Must Be Read: This is for my cotton rec because Gansey wears a cotton shirt. The final book in The Raven Cycle was mostly extremely satisfying to me on an emotional level, but there were still a few conversations I’d hoped we’d see that didn’t happen. This missing scene fic is a conversation between Blue and Gansey in which she tries to tell him he’s going to die, and he reveals to her that he already knows. The author captures the beauty and longing of Maggie Stiefvater’s writing perfectly, and gives us another great Camaro scene of Blue and Gansey that I’m pretty much considering canon in my mind.

Why This Must Be Read: For my leather rec, I’m continuing the theme of “A character wears the item in question” because Bellamy is at one point dressed in leather in this fic. This fic is a Hungers Games AU for The 100, and to me, it is an AU done exactly right. This fic is specifically a Catching Fire AU rather than the first book (and while I think you can read it without having watched The 100, it probably won’t make much sense if you haven’t read/watched Catching Fire), and the author does an tremendous job of figuring out how the characters in The 100 would transfer over to this world without making it feel forced or having any characters smushed into roles that don’t make sense. The quotes from The 100 that the author chooses to use fit in perfectly in the situations at hand, and the Bellamy/Clarke interactions are top notch. Finally, this fic is beautifully written, and it’s the writing that keeps me coming back to reread it more than anything.

Why This Must Be Read: This fic is for my silk rec because of a green ribbon Bea uses to cover up the name on her wrist; while the ribbon in question is never technically described as silk, it’s never not described as silk either, so I am using my imagination. This fic is a soulmates AU with a lot of extremely enjoyable banter between Bea and Ben; it’s fun and surprisingly sweet and does a wonderful job of capturing the charm of the show.

Why This Must Be Read: This fic is for my wood rec, because not only does the title come from Taylor Swift’s “Out of the Woods”, but the song itself plays a part in the story. This is an AU in which Clarke Griffin is an actress who moves to a small town in Virginia for a few months to shoot a movie and ends up falling in love with small town bookstore owner Bellamy Blake. Chash has written what feels like a million modern AUs for The 100 at this point (all great), but this one will probably always be my favorite. It’s funny, it’s romantic, and there’s even a little bit of fake dating thrown in there for good measure. It all adds up to a great little world to get lost in for a little while.

Why This Must Be Read: This fic is for my sugar rec because there is a lot of baking involved. This is a post-1989 fic in which Taylor Swift is hanging out in Nashville with Ed Sheeran sort of contemplating her next move when her ex Harry Styles comes to hang out with Ed for a few days. RPF’s not usually my jam, but this fic sucked me in and wouldn’t let me go. The author’s own description of the fic as feeling “slow and syrupy like summertime and Harry Styles' voice” sums up the atmosphere pretty perfectly. This fic is hot, both literally (it’s summertime!) and figuratively (it very much earns its explicit rating!), and I love it.

The title of the fic says it all - Harriet and Peter spend Christmas at Duke’s Denver among Peter’s family. The interactions between Harriet and Peter’s family are amusing and delightful, and Harriet and Peter’s interactions are charming and show them in love in the best way.

Why This Must Be Read: I’m probably being the most creative in using this fic as my salt rec, but Merriam-Webster defines salty as “somewhat rude or shocking” and if you go by that, you’d by hard pressed to find a show or characters more salty than Veep and Dan and Amy. This is an amazing fake relationship fic in which Dan and Amy accidentally get married in Vegas but decide to stay married in order to further their political careers, and it is exactly as absurd as it sounds in the best way. This fic is hilarious and the characterization for everyone is spot on. Also, if you love this one, be sure not to miss out on the sequel in which they accidentally have a kid.
