Why This Must Be Read: The "wood" in this fic is, uh, not of the arboreal variety. Ahem. But it's so good-I practically had to fan myself as Bucky's inadvertent state of arousal morphs into absurd UST into a very, you know, satisfying conclusion, with a nice little dose of feelings in the middle there somewhere.

Why This Must Be Read: A vampire AU for the "copper" (i.e., blood) gift! The prequel to this (at the end of the page here, under "vampire au") is worth a quick read prior to this longer exploration of another way Bucky might have survived falling from the train-with help from the aptly-named Red Room's finest defector. The supernatural components are nicely done, but the real reason to read this is the smut that ensues...especially in later chapters, when their relationship becomes both well-established and deeply enjoyable for all parties involved, including the reader.
