Good Fall

I like October. It's got that sweet leaves-a-rottin' smell, crisp air in the mornings and nights warms in the afternoon, and it's the best time of year academically (after the long summer break everyone has more energy, as opposed to the spring when everyone is fixed with laser-like intensity on May). The family is healthy *knock on wood* and there are some interesting possibilities for next year brewing - one of which may involve moving slightly westward *knocks wood louder*. It's generally very exciting to think about the future right now. But wait, what's that looming just weeks away? *Gasp* My 30th birthday is in 31 days. I'm trying to think of this as a good excuse to throw a party and have a good time rather than a good excuse for a meltdown. So far, so good. I think it helps that I'm exercising and eating well so there is some hope of feeling optimistic about this decrepit old bag of bones I've got. And if that's not reason enough to feel sunny about stuff, we can always say "blessed be the push up bra and a pair of kick-ass boots."
