This is quite exciting!
I've just had an email from my new employers - they received the contract, which is good, and they also sent me details of a candidate for a vacancy on my team. Quite sensibly, the candidate has expressed a wish to meet his manager before accepting.
Actually, its quite scary - I have participated in interviews myself - obviously as a candidate and also from the other side of the desk - usually as the picky one on the panel who comes up with a killer awkward question - but one on one as the interviewer is a total new one to me. My instinct is to nip round the corner to Waterstones and find a textbook on "How to conduct the ultimate interview" or some such.
I'll have to clear it with my current employer as it will take place next week, but hey, this is was I've been working towards ... power, unlimited power!
