The stars are bright
In the velvet black sky
They never fight
They will never lie
Uncaring
Unjudging
They're the one constant in a world gone mad
Emotions they've never had
Never love
Never hate
Nor pain
Or pleasure
Unflinching in watching our wars
Icy exterior but a fiery core
Sleeping in the freezing embrace of space
They seem to be as delicate as lace
Yet stronger than any force on earth
To whole worlds they give birth
Silent guardians in the sky
Witnesses to our deeds, our crimes
But they are my one true family
My soul mate
I love them with all my might
Steadfast
Unchanging
We are companions, together, in the night.
