A few stuff.

1. NaruSaku similarities and differences chart!

I think it speaks for itself. I think it came out too... pink though. O.o; Ah well.

2. Chart I made while thinking of the different factors that may affect a shinobi's skills. It'll be used in the history essay, though it can serve for other stuff.

3. Is it me, or... is Kishimoto actually doing less and Less pairing development for the current cast? Pre-timeskip, a few little things seemed to point at pairings such as LeeTen, InoChou, the likes. Yet post-timeskip... save for TemaShika, comedic InoSai (which barely counts) and Hinata fainting (which isn't actually Development either), there's barely been hints of any other pairings:
- barely any development on the Tenten front
- and barely any news on the InoChou front
- heck there isn't even explicit team 7 romance evidence in part 2. There are tidbits that could be interpreted as such, but otherwise there's actually a big lack of Saku -> Sasu and Naru -> Saku compared to part 1: the bond that got emphasized the most is the Naruto/Sasuke brother bond.

"But Kishimoto promised romance!" He never said that it'd be among the Current cast. We did get romance. Except it was AsuKure, for all it's worth. (Kishimoto said that romance is hard... pretty hard to write romance with a corpse, yes)

What does this mean? I think it's possible that just like Kishimoto is moving away from making the other cast really powerful, he's also moving away from making pairings left and right, which would make sense since the cast is only 15. Kishimoto is stingy enough with the supporting cast panel count as is (nevermind attempting to use them for romance instead of furthering the action).

But if this is true, it might just mean that by the end of the series, pairings really Might be open-ended. And not just in the "there's evidence but they don't marry," more like "there's no evidence at all." This would imply that commonly admitted pairings such as LeeTen and InoChou really Aren't canon (before wankers attack me, hey I support LeeTen and InoChou. I just wouldn't be surprised if Kishimoto doesn't bother to develop them. It's a shounen manga after all). This also stabs at the "everybody gets pairing up" mentality.

What do you think?

4. I'm also starting to get the impression that there will indeed be a mini-timeskip or training break some time after this arc and perhaps the next 1 or 2. The reason is the blatant lack of "that jutsu" among the old cast. A pause that will lead to events before the 6 months limit would still give enough time for the new cast to come up with a brand new jutsu, which would also explain why they're showing so little Now: so they can do something more Later.

Now this directly contradicts observations I've noted in 3. Perhaps. It depends on which road Kishimoto goes with really. While it may seem too soon for another training session to start, the Rasengan training started just one arc after the Kuchiyose training. There's still the Yin/Yang thingy after all (a person has noted quite nicely that Yin Yang may refer to body/spiritual energy, maybe Naruto will be able to power-up his Kage Bunshin rather than just throw energy balls around).

Thoughts on any of these?
