The check-up on the former secretary had proven out his innocence, or at least bore out his story enough that Dinah and Momoko now considered him a dead end. Dinah had tried calling the woman he'd dated, but the woman had been reluctant to talk on the phone. At least that was what Momoko put in her notebook; she couldn't spell some of the words Dinah had used when the woman had hung up on her anyway.
So Saturday had started out with a trip to visit the girl Lorelei, where it took some time to convince her but they finally got some information out of her. It matched up with what the secretary had said and gave the girls hope that they could perhaps find Albus: the restaurants and bars Albus and Lorelei been to on dates had all been in the same area!
"Criminals tend to
stay in an area they're comfortable with," Momoko noted as they walked from the bus stop to the first address. "Especially if they're not from the area or trying to keep a low profile. Since this isn't near Lorelei's apartment or his office, it may mean he lives nearby!"
