El Paso, Texas Late Thursday night
One day Momoko would understand how Portalocity worked. Really.
She'd left Glacia and gone back to her parents' home to visit for a few hours as well as pick up a few things, including her cat and her pet crabs. Then she spent a little time at the lab with Kaoru while Ken and the Professor messed about with her laptop and ran tests on her pets and her Blossom costume. And of course she ate.
Tokyo City had been a stark contrast to Glacia, and comforting in its way, but Momoko had been happy to see her portal notification come across her phone. She was totally glad, too, that it did as she had been promised and when she stepped through the portal behind the Lab, she walked directly into an alleyway in El Paso. At least it looked like El Paso...
She used her phone to check and found herself not only in El Paso Texas, but it was even the correct El Paso! She was home!
It was late but at least it wasn't nearly as late in the week as she'd feared it would be? She shouldered her luggage and reached for the cat carrier and the cooler her horseshoe crabs were packed in, stepping from the dark alleyway into the dark street. Momoko only made it a block or two, though, before she realized she was totally lost. And really, really tired. Moshi was whining and walking his carrier, shifting the weight, the crabs needed to be in an aquarium soon, and suddenly all that Momoko wanted to do was crawl into her own bed and hide for a long long time.
Well, that was wrong. She did want one other thing... She found a well-lit corner (that didn't look like it was in a decent enough neighborhood) and set her things down to reach for her phone again.
"Jaime? I know it's late, but can you come pick me up and take me home?"
