Blossom fell from the sky, the shock was so great. Luckily years of playing 'miss the ground' meant she recovered at the last second enough to at least soften her landing. On her behind. In the middle of the ocean

And there was Priestly, dressed in a purple shirt that clashed terribly with his kilt, his un-gelled hair hanging in about sixteen different directions, making a beeline across the lobby in search of Momoko.
He almost walked right by her, then managed to screech to a halt and about face. He didn't say a word, just stopped a few feet away, eyes wide and worried, his arms hanging down as he went from determined to awkward in less than a second.
His last clear memory before waking up in his hotel room was of dying in her arms, after all. He wasn't entirely sure how she'd react to him just hugging her.
Momoko heard that voice and looked up, but sorry Dinah, her eyes went to Priestly. Seeing double images, him in that horribly clashing totally Priestly outfit, piercings and all, and the well groomed melancholy man she'd been dating for almost three years...
"You're not dead." It only took two seconds for her to start crying, jump from her chair and, hope you're grounded, Priestly, jump fully on him. "You're not dead. You're not dead. You're not dead." She wrapped herself completely around him and squeezed. "You're not dead."
And then pulled back enough to soundly kiss him for it.
Priestly let out a rather audible OOF when Momoko landed on him, and he stumbled back a step or two, but then he was hugging her back, tears running down his own face.
He'd already been crying more today than he could ever remember doing in his life, and he'd only been alive for maybe an hour.
"I'm not," he said. "I'm fine, I'm so sorry --" And then she was kissing him.
He hoped she forgave the way his body tensed up at that. The last time they'd done this, he'd been shot for it, after all. But it was only for a moment, and then he leaned in to kiss her back, trying to pour all the reassurance he could into it.
Momoko was more focused on the happy relief flooding through her than on Priestly not exactly being into the kiss from the start. And besides, he was definitely making up for it.
Kissing Priestly was actually very nice!
But, it wasn't the same. Momoko remembered the feelings she had for him and she ached hard with those memories, but, it was like... like they'd been together once and long ago moved on, now. She cared for him deeply, probably deeper than before, but he wasn't hers. He was alive again, though, and she pressed a bit harder to confirm that.
Then she reluctantly, slowly, ended the kiss and fell back to the ground, not letting him go yet, though, and still trying to stop crying. "Sorry."
"Yeah, I'm good." Dinah pulled him into a hug again and sent, Don't tell them about the getting shot yet. They've got enough to deal with, and I'm fine.
Priestly was in exactly the same boat. She was Momoko, and part of him had always had a little crush on her, and in the other world, that crush had well and truly blossomed into love -- and he still loved her here. But it was the love he had for Jen back in Santa Cruz, for Trucker and Zo and the rest of his adopted family. He leaned down to kiss her again, gently on the forehead. "That's my line."
She closed her eyes at the gentle kiss to her forehead. It was much more what she was used to, and scarily more comforting. "You can have any line you want, just so long as you don't ever do that again."
"Yeah, Dinah's given me the same lecture." More than once. And before this whole week ever happened.
. . . Look, it wasn't his fault, okay?
"I am so sorry. It was all just getting to be too much, and I had to do something to bring you back. . . ." And he still didn't know if it had worked. He'd thought for a moment he'd seen the spark in her eyes, but, well, he couldn't exactly trust his dying senses, could he?
"Dying should be the last resort, okay!" She gave him another squeeze, then stepped back. Not very far, mind. "The kiss started it, you totally could have just done more of that!"
She gave him a light punch in the chest, rubbing her eye with the other hand. "After you died, I totally went to pieces! Dinah filled in some of the bits but I was falling back. Then Jaime forced me to transform and the last of the spell fell away."
"The dying had not been part of the plan." Not that he'd had anything remotely resembling a plan. "I'm pretty sure that surprised me just as much as it did you."

He was just going to have to learn to live with that at the back of his thoughts, wasn't he.
"I'm glad he did. I'm glad you managed to get free before -- and I'm so sorry I hurt you. That wasn't what I wanted, not in a million years. I -- he -- I loved you. It was what go me through the days." And was part of what made this all so very, very weird.

And now he was standing, staring, not at all sure what he was supposed to do. Or say. Or... whatever.

Then hugged Jaime. "Dude. Hi."

Jaime hugged back. "Hey." He stepped back, looking down at her leg. "You're okay?"
Well, as okay as you could be after something like that?

And his eyes turned back to Momoko (and Priestly, but mostly Momoko) almost without any conscious decision to do so.

And gave a tiny shove in the spine to Jaime's back.
