The nightmare started out as the usual kind: Momoko walking down the streets of the city, any city, every city... except everyone is gone and all over the city streets are scrawls in paint, blood, or ash, "Where are you Blossom?" "Why did you leave?" "Save us" "We are dying" and more. She sees tattered clothes on lines, drapes fluttering through broken windows in shells of houses. Occasionally she hears screams but no matter how hard she flies, she never gets there in time to find anyone.
But tonight the nightmare changed. From what she fears happening to what she actually experienced... It starts with Dalarnas. A real town where real people once lived, loved, laughed, now filled only with
empty houses and empty streets. She finds toys left laying about as if the tiny hands that once held them were just gone to fetch another playmate, but she knows they've been sent to die. Kitchens left with molding food, livestock trampling chairs and knocking over tables; even sickbeds and cradles are robbed of occupants. All the people are gone, dead because she hadn't gotten there in time to save them.
She turns and runs. But where? She can only find one other town.
Yllestad. The streets and houses aren't empty, here. The people and animals had all been killed where they stood, sat, layed. Some had seen their death coming, some were taken by surprise. Some even hastened the process, killing themselves, killing the children, before the horror overtook them.
Because Blossom hadn't been able to save them.
"AH!" Momoko shook herself awake and clasped her hands over her mouth. Had she screamed? Oh please ooh please let her not have screamed. After a few minutes of tense waiting, and no one knocking on her door to check on her, Momoko finally decided she hadn't woken the whole house with her nightmare. "I can't believe I had a nightmare on Christmas." Though after the 'vacation' they'd had at Fandom Island, she totally could; this was probably because of that weekend, actually.
She threw off her blankets and reached for her robe. Normally she'd head to Jaime's room and crawl into bed with him, but they were at his parents' house for the holiday so that option was out. And she was sure it would worry people if she went out flying and they woke to find her gone. So her only remaining option - because she totally wasn't going to go back to sleep - was to go and eat something sweet. She made a cup of
cocoa and warmed a few churros before settling into the couch to watch the Christmas tree and hope it would blink away what was left of her bad dreams so she could be cheerful for everyone in the morning.

"Oooh. Wonder if that big red present is mine? ♥♥"
