Another mother/son forehead-touch.

Homicide because the tree branch was over 6” into her head. If falling doesn’t allow a branch to penetrate the skull (the branch would probably break first), then 6” of branch into the skull = homicide. The branch placement is suspect, too - a young, petite girl, no matter how athletic, gets thrown down by someone bigger/stronger onto a branch to the back of the skull (not the front or sides), using some gravity and force so the branch doesn’t break immediately. Plus being found naked, in a river, after being dragged = homicide and/or human involvement because there are no animal marks. After that, she says “probably accidental.” Eh. That’s just her supposing. So…the writers screwed up by having it be an accident after all that, but whatever.

I think of Heroes S1 whenever I hear this song.

So shameless - Nathan’s peace gesture and “Thank you for your vote.” The Matrix glasses amuse me, too. (I noticed last episode - all Nathan’s security is black).

Mohinder’s face cracks me up. Welcome to planet Earth, Mohinder.

I wish I liked Peter’s dream/flying sequences more. They remind me way too much of Spiderman because they’re poorly done and so similar. The footage is reused often.

A FOOZEBALL TABLE! That’s the hideously out-of-place white plastic thing at the foot of Peter’s bed. Mystery solved! He also has nice blinds, a red leather/pleather chair, a pillow, newspaper, and nightstand. Another two comfy-ish chairs (all mismatched), a fancy rug, a bajillion lamps, There’s a large picture on the windowsill but I can’t make it out - looks like two people. Another picture in the closer room (not in the bedroom), and another on the right wall in the bedroom, I think; his clothes are laid on the nearest chair in the bedroom, her dress is in the closer room (not in the bedroom, so she was naked before him). His laundry basket is a rounded wicket basket in the right corner. A short dresser to the right and a larger cabinet that is either an entertainment hub or another large dresser. And plaid sheets.

Notice how the bed is a huge focal point (ehem - subtle, Peter), plenty of mostly mismatched but themed bed pillows and an overly-large duvet. He has a lot of windows (to my recollection, this is not the same apartment as in later seasons: the colors and placement of windows and those French doors are wrong or off, at least).

I think it's the same apartment as later seasons (they re-use the crap out of sets), but the furniture and layout is way off. By S4, I think he's sleeping on a mattress on the floor, or something Spartan like that. But yeah, everything else you said - I agree, especially the 'huge focal point' part. :) It's a bachelor pad and one that looks like it gets used frequently. And not for bros, parties, gaming, TV watching, or friends hanging out. Now maybe it's all wishful thinking, but I think he got laid a lot. As contrast, there is NOTHING about Sylar's apartment that speaks to me of interest in sex. Sylar and Elle having their date on the fucking FLOOR is emblematic of it - there is nowhere in his apartment that is comfortable and intimate to have someone else be.

I agree with the Spiderman montage.

Nathan's security - I think I read somewhere (Heroes wiki? or a fan theory?) that his security were all ex-military from his service days. They were people he knew well and who had personal loyalty to him. They had fairly well-developed backgrounds for a bunch of guys we never see again in the show. They had names and lines and everything.
