It rained the entire time Jack was on the island.
True, this was only four days, but it rained. Sometimes it was that deep, torrential, sweep you out to sea rain...and other times it was barely there.
"This isn't rebirth rain" Locke said to Jack one day, as they hid down in the hatch. "Someone's paying for their sins."
And the way Locke looked right at Jack when he said it, killed the doctor on the inside. Jack knew he was paying for his sins. Paying for kissing Aeryn, when he was technically with Kate. He just wished he could base his relationship with Kate off more than one sided feelings and sex.
But he never should have kissed Aeryn. He didn't know why he had. She'd just been leaving...and he'd been scared...and dammit.
He knew he'd have to go back and talk to Kate. Best to just go. And do it. Tell her the truth. Snatch her if she tried to run before he finished.
He had a sinking feeling he was going to fuck this up again.
