A Merlin/Arthur Story
So I'm a geek. A geek, a nerd, a weirdo. I am very proud of this :D I have more than one edition of every Harry Potter book, my DVDs are almost completely science fiction or fantasy, and I do a little happy dance if someone references Doctor Who or something else that I love.
However... there is one film that is (in my opinion) definitely not geeky, that I cannot retain my love for. Slightly embarrassing to admit, perhaps, but my favourite comfort film has to be A Cinderella Story, with Hilary Duff.
*hides* Heeheehee. It's kind of weird. But I'm happy :D
So anyway, I was bored this evening and decided to watch it again. Put it on my laptop, loved it as usual... but on this occasion, something occurred to me. As I looked at it, it grew long fluffy ears and a tail like cottonwool, and lo! A plot bunny was born. As if I didn't have enough already :)
What if I wrote a Merlin version of A Cinderella Story?
So of course then I had to get my notebook out and work out the characters :D It took me about half an hour to move them all around to my satisfaction, but I think I've worked it out. And I think I'm going to write this thing :D
I present to you my list of character matching-ups; I welcome any and all opinions. Seriously, I'm really curious as to what people think of this. The "Function as" column refers to characters from "Cinderella" - mostly the animated Disney version - for reference (square brackets explain role in ACS) . So here we go:

I ended up doubling Carter because I couldn't make up my mind, and then I had to double Astrid, but I'm quite pleased. I may have to put "serious screwing with Morgana's character" in the warnings, though.
Whew. Now I've got that out of my system and somewhere I might get an opinion on it, I feel a lot better. I might use this to justify watching ACS again tomorrow... you know, for research...
