I don't care what anyone says: I liked this episode.

Okay, yes, the whole angel thing is rather crazy.  And I know some people hate him, but I like Castiel.  Sorry.  But this episode did give us...

BALTHAZAR!!!  He's fun---like Crowley and the Trickster's illegitimate child.  I heard they might be bringing those two back, but if they don't, I hope they let Balthazar stick around.

Castiel/Balthazar is totally canon now---personal canon, anyway.  Their interactions gave me major Doctor/Master vibes.  Hell, the whole angel plot made me think of "The End of Time"; Raphael is totally the Lord President.  Who wants to see Sam and Dean pull a Luke and Han in a spaceship against a horde of enemy angels before Castiel regenerates into an adorkable young Englishman?

Anyway, Balthazar...is kind of hot.  Maybe it was the accent.  Or the open shirt.  Or just my thing for blonds.  I like his whole "Angel Without A Cause" thing.  Like I mentioned above, he feels like either Gabriel's successor or an angelic foil for Crowley.  Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

You know, they make the whole Angel Civil War thing seem so badass, but since dearly departed Zachariah was such a bureaucrat, I can't help but wonder if that's just a big show of the humans and their tussle just looks like one big episode of The Office when they're upstairs.  Either Raphael is Dwight and Castiel is Jim, or Raph is Michael and Cas is Tobey.  This needs to be a crack fic.

Also, the promo: Twilight parody FTW!!!  Dean being all suspicious of Sam again...not so much.  I mean, yeah, he definitely has a reason to be suspicious, but it's just getting kind of old.  Can we find some new relationship territory, please?

castiel, supernatural, the office, doctor who, i have weird taste in men
