Compassion takes many forms, and sometimes we can be angels.
When we make a gift of ourselves--whether it's our time, our work, or our bodies--we can move out of our own limitations and lamentations and, for a while, be larger than ourselves. By sharing what we might, we may be able to make a connection that lifts all of us up.
A hand extended not in pity, nor in pride, but freely offered, given, shared.
I've been having a particularly bad few days, and having compassion for another has been balm for myself, too.
Remembering that any of us, at any time, can, by giving of ourselves, pour forth grace as water from a fountain... and find it returned all unexpected in a quiet moment.
I'd forgotten that.
Glad that I am reminded.
