Things looking up

Aug 26, 2005 10:40

Well, it's not probable, but there has been yet another death close to me. My cousin who was murdered a month and a little ago, his father died in a car accident last week. I don't quite know if it's just what happens at some time in every persons life, but it just seems to be what has happened in mine, 7 people in 4 and a half months. I think that will be the end of it for now, though I do believe that's what I said after 5.

Now, to looking up, there is a glimmer of light on the horizon. Things seem to be going well for me. I have been teaching for the last 3 weeks at a performing arts school that used to be called Kick Performance Group and is now the Australian Institute of Performing Arts. I'm a drama teacher, a dance teacher and once in a while a music teacher. I only have 3 classes of my own to speak o, but I've already covered for 3 classes, in 3 weeks of working there.

RENT, is another reason things are going well. We did a complete top to tail run of the show (not blocked, just the music) last night and it went really well, so after being a bit worried about it, I'm now feeling confident that it will be good. We start blocking it next week. Then we have the Philharmonia. The Orchestra we are singing with next weekend, the Strathfield Symphony Orch, they're not doing a very good job to date, so I hope they shape up in two more rehearsals.

Work, well that's AIPA and the fish shop (also going alright, though there are night's I would much prefer to be sitting at home doing nothing but relaxing) and I've been called into the Royal again.

What else is there. My interest in people at the con has finally gone down and people are no longer living vicariously through my pain and suffering in that field, if only for the fact that I like a guy that I go to the Philharmonia with. Andrew, he's lovely, taller than me, by just under a head, he's a runner and works in transit, and sings... We'll see though...

Other than that, having no time off except to do uni work, there's not much to tell. I hope you are all going well. Please write to me with news, I'd love to hear from you.
