finally, i've time to use the com without worrying if someone else needs to use it. i'm in the school en Sevilla right now.. it's almost 5pm and we've got some tour thingy at 6pm so i'm waiting for time to pass (most shops are closed now hehe oh, oh. i just saw 3 Zaras in one street. crazy isnt it?).
so i arrived in Sevilla on Monday evening from Liverpool. my 3 days in liverpool was awesome.. it was good seeing familiar Singaporean (and pseudo Singaporean) faces, including those i met for the first time. and Anfield! Anfield was awesome.. until now, i still can't believe i was there watching a game. it kinda makes you want more. someday i'm gonna get my hands on GREAT tickets and be closer to the players without stalking them hahahaha. pity it rained after the game. we couldn't get signatures from the players at the gates cos they have to rush to their cars. grr. honestly, i wasn't too big on signatures.. i just wanted to shake their hands. oh well.
THIS IS ANFIELD!
anyways, more about Sevilla and my host family. they're a young couple, not more than 35 i think. Roderigo and Olalla (pronounced at oh-la-ya). Anyways when I first arrived, Olalla wasn't home and Roderigo spoke NO english so i was feeling a lil troubled. but then when i met Olalla i realised she does speak a bit of english. Even then, i think she'd prefer it if i dabble in spanish cos that's what this immersion's all about and she's used to getting students staying over. i'm a student! don't get to call myself a student much these days. the only drawback about staying with a host family is i can't go out too late not cos i have a curfew but cos the other students stay in student apartments in one area while i stay on the other side of the river. so i'd rather not stay out too late and walk home alone. streets here don't look as safe, probably cos the place isn't as metropolitan.
that's Louise and me
left to right: peter (germany), ray (england), nadine (france) and shibani (usa).
The lady behind me is my host, Olalla. Roderigo isn't in the photo. Behind Olalla are mom and lil bro (Pablo's his name). they don't live with us but they just joined us for dinner once.
So yeah homestay's good. I can speak to Roderigo more now albeit having to ask him to repeat his lines a few times (cos they speak insanely fast). they're 3 others in my class-- Louise from Australia, Nadine from France and Ray from England. oh yeah, the teacher's Borjas. He's 30 and cute.
I went to visit the Alcazar with Nadine yesterday and the palace is huge. will be doing more sightseeing later on with the group. i don't know why but i seem to be sightseeing in palaces with french people (Palacio Real with Henri in Madrid and Alcazar with Nadine yesterday). The former's 25 and the latter's 45 but they've got a similar french humour thing going on and they both crack me up. hahahah.
okay i'm in dire need for coffee. till next time!
