Today seemed like such a short day. I mean, it's not over yet, but I'm already back at home. There are a bunch of awesome things coming up, that I'm pretty stoked about. Spike Lee is coming to talk in a week, and it's free! I'm definitely gonna go to that. And on Monday there's a silent film screening with a live jazz band. Later in April, I think, there's going to be a screening of "Nanook Of The North" with live digital mixes and electric violin and cool stuff going on. I'm trying to get Ben to come up to see it, I think he might be into it. And SAB is showing a lot of good films this semester, which is cool.
And just decided today, Kat is gonna come to LI/NYC with me for spring break! We're gonna go to my place for 3 or 4 days, and go into the city for a couple of those days. See some shows maybe, wander around, maybe go to Elis Island, go to dinner and a bar maybe. Should be really fun. I've never brought a college friend home before, I'm kinda excited about that.
We watched movies in both my classes, and I really enjoyed both of them. We started "Finding Nemo" in my genre class, but didn't finish it. We'll finish it on Tuesday and I can't wait! Now I finally get the "mine?" joke that I've seen around. It's really funny and cute and I can't wait to see the end. In my non-fiction class we watched "Cannibal Tours" which was a film about tourists travelling to New Guinea and the culture clash and stuff. The tourists looked like fucking idiots in that film, and it made me hate white people a bit more than I did before. Blah. But it was a really interesting film.
