Ok, I know I've been slacking, so here's some of what I've been up to lately!
So the annual holiday party was this past Saturday and it was really fun. Good friends, delicious punch, Christmas cheer and all that. It's a bit of a dress-up affair, but I think it's fun to see everyone in their nice clothes every so often. There were plenty of great outfits, but Vic cleaned up especially nice. It was a bit of a shock seeing him in a nice shirt, tie, and jacket. Course he was still wearing sneakers. Oh, Vic...lol.
Some random highlights of the evening:
~Vic and I bringing "RDT" to the party as Brandy's date, decorated with Christmas lights.
~Spiked punch!

~Holiday greetings from
Jon Polito.
~Vic and Darlene trying to convince Doto that they're secretly dating.
~Iris' DELICIOUS truffles.
~Getting a compliment from a guy I'd seen a year ago about how good I looked.
~Snuggling with Rory and Michael...yay snuggling!
~Did I mention spiked punch?
It was really fun. It was also nice because last year it was WICKED hot. It's a tiny apartment that gets filled with tons of people, so it gets very warm. Last year I was so hot that I was sweating like a pig. So not attractive. This year it wasn't bad at all! I think it was a combination of the window being open more and also my having less insulation...lol. So yes, very fun night.
Tuesday I went to see Barenaked Ladies with Jen, Brandy and Doto. It was kind of a last minute thing. There'd been some tickets bought, and then people couldn't go, so I got a ticket secured at the goth party. It was the first time I'd seen them and it was SO much fun!
The opener was a band called The LeeVees. A Jewish band that sang all Hanukah songs. They were hilarious. Some song titles included, "Applesauce Vs Sour Cream" "How Do You Spell Chanukah?" and "Latke Clan." It was very amusing. Then a cute lil girl choir came out and sang a song. And then another song. One song would have been enough. Then BNL came out and sang another couple songs with the cute lil girls, and that was nice.
The lil girl choir left and the BNL rocked out. They were awesome and so much fun and I loved it. They played a bunch of Christmas songs, an equal amount of Hanukah songs, some BNL songs I didn't know and some BNL songs I did know. Among the ones I *did* know were, "Old Apartment," "$1,000,000," "Pinch Me," "One Week," "It's All Been Done Before" and "Brian Wilson." It was really great.
Our seats kicked some ass too! On the floor, about 50-100 feet away from the stage on the side. Not too shabby! The venue was strange though. Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. It looked like a high school auditorium. I kept thinking I was going to see a production of "The King & I" or something. It was fun though.
Oh, another random tidbit about the concert was that the lighting RULED! It's not often I'll notice a lighting scheme, but I noticed this one. They had this effect where a light shone at just the right angle to basically project a silhouette of the band members on the wall. That was really cool. Plus they used a lot of rich, vibrant colors that bathed the stage and it was gorgeous. Loved it! Very fun night.
This weekend proves to be action packed. Tonight I'm hanging out with my new buddy, Michael. I'm not sure what we're doing. Probably just watching a movie or something chill. Tomorrow is the office holiday party, and then I have a date. (hee!) Saturday is Rick's birthday party and Sunday I'm watching "Firefly" and "Cowboy Bebop" with Adam all day. Lots going on!
Then the show is on hiatus and I get a bit of a break. It's sort of a break because I'm still working 7/10 days, but it'll be relaxed because not many will be in. It will be good. I'll try and keep up with my LJ posts. Hehe. =)
