Okay, so I was driving back to the office from a run. I was in the left turn lane, waiting for the light to turn green. It turns green, cars move up, I move up a bit, and the car behind me moves up and bumps hard into the back of my car. It wasn't crazy hard, but hard enough for me to be slightly shaken and look at him in my rearview mirror because I was pissed.
I quickly turned into a gas station right there, and he followed me. I got out, looked at the back of my car and it looked fine. I mean, it was a bump and it happens. No scratches, no dents, whatever. The guy was older and asked if I was okay, I was very brisk with him and was just like, "Yeah I'm fine." He was like, "I'm so sorry." And I kinda shrugged it off, got back in my car and drove away. I mean, I was pissed just because it was annoying and he was very clearly not paying attention and that's why he hit me. But my car was fine so I came back to the office.
I tell Heather and she goes, "Did you get his insurance information?" I look kinda confused, and say no because my car was fine. Then she gets a look of surprise and goes, "What? You always get their insurance information!" I'm still confused, because my car was fine and I didn't know what purpose that would serve. But then she tells me once her mom was bumped and it actually did something to the undercarriage or something but she looked at it and couldn't tell after the bump.
So now I'm kinda worried, because I didn't get his insurance information. I mean, I drove the car back to work and it's fine. But I've just got that little shred of paranoia now. And if something pops up, it's too late because I obviously can't go back to the guy and get it. There's nothing I can do now and I have to let it go, but I'm still slightly nervous. I guess I learned a lesson today.
