Weekend recap in 3 paragraphs or less...
It's late and I have work in the morning so I'm gonna try and recap the whole weekend in 3 paragraphs or less. ...... And this opening section doesn't count.
Friday night I just hung at home and watched more of "Firefly" which was still very fun. I finished the whole first (and only) season on Saturday and that show is awesome. It's such bullshit that it got cancelled, because it was really really good. But there's gonna be a feature length movie version apparently, with all the same cast members! Yay! Uh oh, I just wasted a paragraph talking about "Firefly." Crap.
Saturday morning/afternoon I did some chores and finished my DVD watching. Saturday night I originally was going to go to a bonfire, but then we had a birthday dinner for Adrienne, and Jon, Jen, and David were in town, so of course I went to the family dinner. It was really fun and it was good to see everyone. There was a bunch of Jen's family too, because it was partly pre-wedding stuff also. The pre-wedding stuff continued this late morning/early afternoon for a bridal shower for Jen. So many Yentes, I didn't know what to do. Jesus. Jen got lots of great presents and the shower was really lovely, but lord there were a lot of yappy, annoying Jewish women.
Later this evening I got together with BJ, Kat, Jon, Jen and their friends Jason and Drew for dinner at Islands, and then poker. It was a really good night and it was really fun. I was short stacked for a while, but hanging in. Then I got a boat, and that was the turning point of the game for me. I ended up being up $12, and was going to go home with $32, but actually walked away with $40 because we all brought twenty dollar bills and there was no change. I felt kinda bad, but there was nothing we could do and everyone seemed okay with it. At first I was trying to flirt a bit with Jason, because he was kinda my type. But Drew grew on me, and we got a bit of a repor going towards the end when we had some good hands. I hope he plays with us again. He asked BJ to give him a call next time we have a game, and he said he was gonna get me back next time, so hopefully there'll be a next time.
Whew. Almost had to go to 4 paragraphs, but I made it. And this part doesn't count either. It's like in a paper, the introduction and conclusion doesn't really matter, just the shit in the middle. And goodnight.
