Today was very lovely. Made silver dollar pancakes this morning for breakfast, and I actually made too many so Vic had the extra ones. We chatted in the kitchen a bit and that was how I found out he was leaving today. So now both John and Vic have gone home, and it's just me and Ryan until the 24th, when he leaves. I had to run some errands before Hanukah at Adrienne's, so I told Vic Merry Christmas and to have a good flight before I left.
First errand was mailing a couple packages at the post office. The line was horrific, but it actually moved pretty steadily, so it didn't take as long as I would have expected. Then I went to get Wheelio's oil changed. That also didn't take as long as I expected. And her belts, hoses and fluids were checked, and her oil filter is good until the next oil change. I feel very responsible indeed.
I went over to Adrienne's early and me and Bobert watched "A Night At The Opera" because he said he'd never seen a Marx Brothers movie before. He is now a fan and I feel very proud indeed. People starting arriving around 5:30ish. All together it was me, Adrienne, Bobert, Kat, Beej, David, Miriam, Mom-Mom, Pop-Pop and some of Adrienne's friends. An older couple, and then a middle aged couple, their 2 sons and one of their sons' girlfriend. One of the sons was actually the guy from Kat and Beej's wedding that gave me a hug when I told him I was a Serviss. Not sure if he has a girlfriend, but he's still cute. And he gave me a hug again when he left...hehe. *adds to list of cute guys to have a crush on at some point*
The night was relaxed and fun. BJ got silly and was trying to get 11 dreidels to spin all at the same time. His best was 7. I think part of the problem was he didn't have a very big space to work with. He was doing this for a good 45 minutes and it was very amusing. We had Hanukah towards the end of the night and I think everyone liked their gifts. I got a check from MM&PP, a Borders certificate from Kat & Beej and a really pretty glass bead bracelet from Adrienne. I'm not a huge jewelry girl, but Adrienne always buys really pretty pieces that I love.
That was the evening in a nutshell. It wasn't real eventful, but it was a good time as always. Alex is gonna be in LA early January with his parents, and Ethan is coming into LA on Wednesday, so I told Beej we need to have a poker game. That'll be goooood. I can't decide whether tomorrow should be a lazy lounging around in my PJs day, or if I want to get dressed at some point and go down to Borders to use my certificate. Of course, I could always go to Borders, then come back and throw my PJs back on. Ooh there's an idea! =Þ
