Furniture!

So my interviews went pretty well. At the first one, the guy who was supposed to interview me was flying back from NY and wasn't in the office yet. So I spoke to another guy with a great French accent about the company and what I'd be doing and stuff. It doesn't sound like stuff I'm super excited about, but I would be learning all about distribution, which would be good. I actually got there the first time, then left and came back an hour or so later when the first guy was in the office. So I spoke to two guys there. One French, once British. They're an international company and they liked the fact that I've studied abroad. So the first one went well.

The second one went well too. The second one seems more of a typical internship, but it seems to be more of stuff I'm interested in and a bit more laid back. The first one was casual too, the second one just seemed moreso. The guy at the second internship also liked I'd been abroad and that one seems fairly definite, he just has to talk to his boss and whatnot. Neither of them took that long and I was home earlier than expected.

I came home and chilled for a little bit, which was nice after all my running and driving around. I had to kill time a lot today and I walked around Sunset Blvd and Beverly Hills and it was really hot out. But it felt good. I stopped in a Baskin Robbins in Beverly Hills to buy a bottle of water before the second interview, and two youngish business guys were getting ice cream cones. I sat at a table by the window, facing the inside of the store and they sat at at a table against the wall, very in my eyeline. I was zoning out a lot because the heat was zapping my energy and I was killing time. So I was just zoning out with my chin resting on my hand. At one random point I came back to reality and looked over at the two guys. Not for any particular reason, just because they were the only other customers there. They were both staring right at me, and when I looked at them, they looked away really quickly. But it was so obvious they'd just been staring at me. I could have gotten an ego boost from it, or a pang of insecurity. I chose to take a small ego boost. Nothing happened with them, but it was kinda funny.

Anyway after all that, Adrienne and Robert came over with my bookshelves and then we went to get my dressers. The bookshelves are fairly basic and not too attractive, but for $4 they serve their purpose and I can't complain. The dressers weren't too hard getting to my place and they're nice looking but the drawers have issues with running on their tracks. But again, $50 for two black laquer dressers in decent condition, I have no major complaints. Tomorrow is desk day and I'll be set on furniture. Then I'll just need a computer monitor and that's pretty much it. My TV and DVD player would be nice, but it's not necessary when I can use the ones in the living room. And Vic said I can use one of the chairs in the living room for my desk. Sweeeeet!

So now I'm just hanging around until I hear from my internships. And once that happens, I can go look for a part-time job. I should also figure out when I can get to the DMV.
