So it seems the insomnia of my early teens might be back. Disturbed sleep patters from being in London and Angst about the essays I have to write and exams I have to sit and grammar I should really learn have played their parts. I went to bed and read until about one, switched off my light and laid awake / in that half-sleep/half-awake, am-I-really-awake-or-not? state until at least five. Then at 7.30 I was wide awake but managed to doze back off again until about quarter to nine or so. This has been going on since at least Saturday. I'm really quite tired now, but need to do work so will probably try to nap during the afternoon lull.
Having roughly finished the first draft of my essay on Eichendorff, I have switched to a new essay: The relation of Brecht's theories of Theatre to his plays 'Leben des Galilei' and 'Baal'. So my head is slowly starting to fill with terms like 'epic theatre', 'Gestus', 'Fabel' and 'Verfremdungseffekt'. You've got to love someone as awesome as Brecht.
