Summary: Jack tightens his grip
Delirium
Jack tightens his grip, feeling twin hearts beating off-kilter against his chest.
"He saved us," Rose babbles. "He breathed it in. What was it?"
"I don't know." The Doctor is stronger than he looks and the body pressed to Jack's is hot with fever. "But he'll be fine."
"And there'll be kippers for tea!" With a sudden surge of movement, the Doctor breaks free, taking half a step before collapsing again. Jack and Rose catch him, eyes meeting as they gently lower him to the ground, smiling despite themselves.
Rose gives a snort of laughter. "He doesn't even like kippers."
