I will try this again
so I arrived here in Madrid one small bottle of Crown couple of pills and god knows how man hours later. I have reall seen little of the city since I went to the hostal via the subway. Underground really isnt the scenic route.
Teh hostal is subperb except they dont previde towels this vexes me to o end since I didnt pack one. They play MTV Espana nonstop in the common room, but I cant complain because MTV Espana actually plays Music. Julie and I are sharing a room with god knows who. I met one of them when they came in yesterday afternoon as I was napping and the other one when she woke me up while I was sleeping because I was snoring. I am sure those of you who have shared a room with me dont blame her.
I have this to say: Spain loves ham. In fact there is a restraunt nearby that is called the Museo de Jabon, which _I have translated to ¨the museum of ham¨ This pleases me but I do not yet know why. So far I have had morning meal that involves a toasted piece of long bread and what seems to be ketchup with oil and viniger that you spread on it. I have also had Jamon Serrano which i simply a Prochutto style ham on bread...and that is it. No dressing and no vegitables or cheese. It is delicious, I can appriciate a people that go straight for the meat amd bread.
Last night I coax Julie out despite desparate fatigue due to her travels. We ended up at a pub, which is exactly the wrong place to go if you are hoping to interact with the local madrinenos. Instead we met up with some Americans and decoded tp find another bar. After acosting locals I find out 2 things. First there is a bar that will serve us and two locals gladly show us there, we buy them drinks. Secondly I find out that I am the only one in the group that can remotely understand Spanish.
I have learned that this city is both dynamic and modern. I am wanting for nothing in the way of modern conviences. Although I often find myself wanting for a little more curitsy from the residence of Madrid.
The two gentleman that we did met lqst night turned out to be socialists and there for good people with souls. Additionally it turns out that they were also paramedics...they pantamiming that went along with finding that out was quite humorous, it involved acting like one was giving someone they did not like CPR.
Right now I am hoping to catch an open restraunt and then go to bed
Benviendos from Espana bitches
