I just saw Chiwetel Ejiofor as Everyman in Carol Ann Duffy's new adaptation of a 15th c. morality play. I would not describe it as one of the best theatrical experiences of my life, but it was certainly one of the most awesomely surreal. Plus: great design, and great use of the Olivier space.

(God is a cleaning lady! I love Carol Ann Duffy.)

I'm in London! The process of getting here turned out to be fraught -- the short version is that I missed my connecting flight due to weather, was stranded in Chicago for a full 24 hours, and spent a total of 44 hours in transit -- but hey, I'm here now. I have already written about how I ended up accidentally seeing Colin Morgan in The Tempest at the Globe. These productions actually had fewer audible fangirls in the audience but did include capital-S stars.
