six things make a post

1. Peter Mulvey, Jeff Foucault, and Kris Delmhorst = my musical OT3 forever. ♥

2. Watching truepenny's riding lessons is really interesting, even for someone as not-into-horses as I am. It's even more fun when June The Barn Cat naps in my lap the whole time. (Kitty!)

3. I miss truepenny and mirrorthaw. We lived practically in each other's pockets for so long that we got used to updating each other on daily events as they occurred, and now it's hard to catch up on everything that's happened since we last saw each other. We've begun an awful lot of conversations with "I forget whether I told you about..." and we keep having to interrupt the early stages of stories with "-okay, let me back up for a second." Heh. But then we get into talking about the differences between Sherlock Holmes adaptations (a topic guaranteed to get truepenny on a roll, right up there with Shakespeare and Tolkien) and it's like I never left, and I'm overwhelmed by fondness and a sense that the universe is unfolding as it should.

4. I got truepenny a book about Nazis for our non-secular celebration of winter holidays (including Sir Isaac Newton's birthday). I don't know whether this says more about her, me, or our friendship.

5. We're going to see The Hobbit this afternoon. I am super excited. It's actually a nicer theater than the one where we saw the midnight showing of The Two Towers. :D

6. I miss Wisconsin. I miss this town. I love my new home and my new life (which after lo these many years are not all that new, I guess), but I think I will always miss this place and be glad to visit. It's my hometown in the way my actual hometowns never were.
