still my show, dammit.
I am almost done with initial clipping for the current Firefly vid. I would be done already, except that scrubbing through looking for clips takes me forever because I keep coming across scenes I have to stop and watch. Keep in mind that these clips have no sound - which doesn't matter, because I know so much of the dialogue. I didn't realize just how much of the Firefly dialogue I knew off by heart until I found I was supplying about 70% of it: maybe 50% verbatim, and the other 20% got-the-gist-of-it.
I am going to try to finish clipping tomorrow, and to bang out a reasonable facsimile of a draft by the end of this week, and then, either before I start on the next vid or possibly before I work on revisions to this one, I think I am going to rewatch the entire show. Because I can, and because apparently my love for this show is utterly failing to fade with time.
I just don't know what I'm going to do when I start working on the new BtVS vid ideas. It'll be the same problem all over again, except with seven seasons to linger over and love.
I have a lot of vid ideas that I am excited about right now, and I am excited about them for a wide range of reasons - the music, the shiny, the idea itself, the prospect of a challenge - but these Firefly vids are ones that I am excited about from pure mad love of the show as a whole, these characters, the way they breathe and grieve and struggle and strive and smirk and swagger and stand and fight and run like hell and make a home, not always gladly, and almost never easily, but together.
