I think that's fascinating that you did that. I can't imagine telling my coworkers about my fanfiction, but then I work in a very different industry and environment than you do.
I hope their response is positive and appreciative of both fandom at large and your particular talents.

There are certainly a lot of people in my department whom I would *not* tell about the site, not so much because I object to them knowing as because I cannot imagine that a) it would ever come up, or b) they'd be interested. But these are people with whom I was talking specifically about BtVS, and whom I think could tip over from "fan" to "fannish" pretty easily. In that sense telling them isn't that different from telling online folks about the site -- it's just that these are fellow fans whom I know in person rather than solely online. Which isn't unprecedented for me, although truepenny is a good friend rather than a departmental acquaintance, and I take full credit for sucking her into BtVS in the first place. *g ( ... )
