And now, a weekend.

We had our holiday party at work on Friday. It wasn't bad, this year they provided wine. Which made up quite handily for being at work when I was still feeling icky. Once again there wasn't nearly enough food, however...they provided each table with three main courses, one meat, one salmon and one vegetarian with enough slices on each to give each person at the table one slice. Which is fine if you actually EAT all of those things but I don't eat salmon so I was one course short. I ended up eating far too many desserts to make up for the fact that I was still hungry. (I don't know how our resident vegitarian deals. Perhaps she stabbed people with a fork when they reached for the portabello mushroom dish?

We did the obligatory white elephant, which wasn't nearly as fun as it could have been since only one steal was allowed per item. I came home with scary snowmen salt and pepper shakers. I believe they're being donated to the cause again next year.

I did, however, get off early so I got to go home and relax for a bit before heading up to meet debmats. I was a bit sad that the bribery pizza was NOT taking place as she had a prior dinner engagement to drag me to but I was a very good fox and refrained from singing the "I want it now" song from Willy Wonka despite still being ill and disappointed about our lunch. This took much fortitude on my part and I should be congratulated and given shiny things. (just kidding! About the congratulations anyway, you should still give me shiny things! *grin*) So we had mexican food with several of Deb's friends that I vaguely knew, there was much bean dip and it was good.

Saturday I helped debmats take two of her three storage units and combine them into a new, bigger one. There were many boxes piled very high. Mostly books with occasional forays into plushies instead. I got to spend much time on the ladder lifting heavy boxes down and hearing a lot of "Careful that's heavy...oh." as I picked up boxes and piled them one the cart, sometimes with one hand. Strong fox. Move heavy things. Grrrr. (Honestly I didn't mind at all, though I would have prefered if I hadn't still been getting over being ill)

Then the promised pizza took place. And it was good. I did not stab anyone with a fork defending my pizza. This time.

Sat. night was a Yule concert, Alexander James Adams, Heather Alexander's heir. It was good, his voice is sounding very nice though I do miss Heather's voice from time to time. Two new cds were out, making it a slightly expensive evening but a good one. I got a random compliment from someone we'd been talking to before the concert about my singing voice which surprised me and I had to admit I have a cold at the moment.

Yesterday there was much sleep. And I mean much. I got up at 7:30, ate breakfast, went back to bed at 8:30 and got up again at 11:30. Despite that I got most of my laundry done, a drawing finished, a secret x-mas project finished, some yarn dyed and grocery shopping done. I are efficient.

Tonight sing along Messiah. Do I actually KNOW "The Messiah"? Not really. This promises to be interesting.
