I get disinterested in things too quickly - books, TV shows, Livejournal, but then I pick them up again and they are like new. I stayed up to the wee hours of the morning watching videos of Bush (the band, not the president). My favorite song in the whole wide world, Glycerine, is by them, but I haven’t listened to them for a while and when I did I remembered why I loved them in the first place. They are great live and you can’t say that about a lot of bands. Gavin Rossdell’s new band, Institute, is good I guess but I want Bush to get back together. BUSH, GET BACK TOGETHER. I also renewed my interest in the Kidney Thieves and got into Flyleaf. The rock scene has been depressing lately, but it’s picking up, at least for me.
During this obsession, I’ve been neglecting my writing. I’m trying to outline a script about siblings who work in a Laundromat - one’s a screw-up (the girl) and the other is the overachiever (the boy), but throughout the film, the screw-up becomes the goody-two-shoes and the overachiever becomes close to deranged. It’s a simple premise. After my overcomplicated last script, which I’m still revising, I want to write something fun and comedic and only a little dark. During my obsession, I also haven’t gotten far in the book I borrowed from Amy, Good Omens, even though it is a really good book. I’m going to try to catch up tonight before Reunion kicks in and everyone goes crazy. I can’t wait until Monday (my off day), when I can just have a lazy day in, reading and watching movies. It is going to be great.
