My internal medicine preceptor has this uncanny knack of making me second guess all my major life decisions.
Day 1: he told me that family medicine wasn't going to make me any money and that they are terribly overworked
Day 2: he told me that i should go to peds neuro since i'm female and girls like kids and money.
Day 3: he called me "naive" and "stupid" for wanting to go to family medicine.
Day 4: he told me to go to radiology so i wouldn't have to go in on weekends.
Day 5: he told me that i should have children soon b/c women physicians usually have trouble conceiving later in life.
i understand he is opinionated. and half the time, i'm sure he thinks that he's just kidding around. but i'm impressionable. and he questions all my major life decisions i have made as an adult, and it is messing with my head.
And dammit. this is a four week rotation.
