I'm not dead!
In fact, I am recovered. Mostly. I have a doctor appointment Monday about the wheat situation (want a comforting pamphlet, dammit!), but I am off the eye drops and have the whitest whites I've never had. They sorta freak me out actually. I wore my contacts for the first time in weeks today. I can see again! No more faking it and driving in four lanes of traffic pretending I was navigating a particularly pixelated video game. Everything is so sharp. I'll never take for granted my vision again.
In other news...back from Austin. It was good to get out of the state for a while. Away from work. Sucked I was half blind for most of it (navigating O'Hare like that was a blast) but I had a good time. Got to see The Sounds and The Limousines in concert. Blogged about it here.
What else is new? Oh. Hope Solo was finally released from the hazing which was Dancing With the Stars. I got around to blogging about it after days of raging. The rage left me at some point and I was positive for the most part, but at any hint of further trauma to her when she has to return for the final show I will reserve the right to retract my mellow. If that happens I am going to go balls out crazy on them. No lie. I have had it. The fact Tony even had to say this speaks to how poorly they treated her. Tony is a pro who has been around Hope and Maks and the situation and knows what is really going on behind scenes. If he felt he needed to break ranks and say this on film in front of everyone...arg. I don't think I've seen anything so kind in my entire life. I want to hug both of them. I am so glad she is back home and will soon be rejoining her team. Let the nightmare be over.
I had a Ripley binge and watched Ripely Underground and Ripley's Game. I am reading Ripley Underground right now. I have my eyes back! My reading list won't be as epic as it was last year by the end of December, but I hope to catch up. Not being able to read was the worst part all this. Besides, y'know, pain and stuff. I also read a bunch of iZombie and need to finish off that Cherryh book...forgot I was in the middle of that one too.
