My New Second Home

At the start of last week, I was transferred to the main branch of the Brooklyn Public Library at Grand Army Plaza...a switch that has earned me a shorter commute, more professional work, and very pretty scenery to enjoy at lunchtime.

The vast fortress of knowledge that is the Brooklyn Public Library's Grand Army Plaza facility. It is really exciting to walk through the doors of this building every day.

At Grand Army Plaza itself, just across from the library, a massive monument is dedicated to those who fought in the Civil War.

Just past the monument, a gorgeous fountain stands at the center of an enormous clusterfuck traffic circle uniting Flatbush Avenue, Eastern Parkway, Prospect Park West, and Vanderbilt Avenue, among others.

The library is also just across the street from Prospect Park, which is going to be a huge boon to my running once it's light out again after work...which won't happen until next spring.
