Woven Bacon and Sausage Log

A perfect thing or the greatest thing on God's green earth?

You might be thinking huh? Well, certain parties (more then one) in my circle of pork loving friends emailed me links to the Bacon Explosion. The attached email was, 'this made me think of you.' My first reaction was "how nice!" I was touched that in their mind they associate me with bacon, the world's most perfect meat. Then I looked at the recipe. Drooling. But, my next rational thought was, "Is this some sort of gastronomic gauntlet saying 'hey, you're the porkest loving girl I know. Why aren't you making this right now? Perhaps for collective enjoyment, hint nudge, wink.'"

The truth is the recipe sorta intimidated me. First I'm fat enough thank you. My love of pork products is not without blame there. Second, it would envolve using our smoker/bbq, a thing that I, being a delicate wilting flower, leave to the man of the house. Two reasons are enough to stop me. I guess my pork-fu is weak.

But not anymore. The NY Times did up an article about the recipe. That is usually enough to get the man of my house overly excited about ... well anything. According to him it must be made. He had that glint in his eye, the one that I can not say no to, the one that contagiously spreads to my eye.

So, bring your bibs ladies and gentleman, the party is at my house.
