In the parrot world, there’s a new way of feeding that’s taking the hobby by storm. It’s called CHOP. No, that doesn’t stand for anything; it’s just what you do. You chop a lot.
I saw a video on ParrotNation, and it’s very similar to what I make already. So, I’m trying chop.

What is chop? The goal is to have everything chopped as fine as possible, and to include as many different things as possible. This mirrors the foraging diet eaten in the wild. Chop is designed to be an addition to the diet, and we hope you work with your avian veterinarian to ensure your pet bird receives appropriate nutrition.

So, basically chop is a bunch of grains (rice, quinoa, amaranth, etc.) as well as veggies and greens chopped fine. Then you can freeze them and thaw in single serve containers.

I’ll be making a batch sometime in the next few days. I hope to do some video and will post it as soon as I can.
