THIS LJ SEEMED FUCKED FOR A WHILE BACK THERE BUT IT SEEMS IT'S WORKING AGAIN.

MY KNEES BEGAN TO GIVE ME PROBLEMS, NOTHING MAJOR BUT IT SEEMS BESIDE PLANTAR FASCITIS I'M DEVELOPING PATELLOFEMORAL SYNDROME, WHICH SOUNDS IMPRESSIVE BUT BASICALLY MEANS YOU'RE RUNNING TOO MUCH AND WEARING DOWN YOUR KNEES

SO! IN ORDER TO REST MY KNEES BY CUTTING DOWN ON THE MILEAGE, AND HOPEFULLY OPTIMIZE MY BIOMECHANICS AND RUNNING FORM I'VE DECIDED TO ACTUALLY GIVE BAREFOOT RUNNING A SERIOUS GO!

I'M TAKING OFF MY SHOES AND RUNNING FOR INCREASING LENGTHS ALONG THE SAME ROUTE, STOPPING HOPEFULLY BEFORE THE BLISTERS START TO TURN UP.

I'M UP TO 2.5 KM AS OF YESTERDAY, KNEES SEEM TO BE DOING WELL, SOLES OF THE FEET ARE SURPRISINGLY NON HURTY AND BLISTERS ARE MANAGEABLE.

THE PATTERNS OF BLISTERS ALSO TELL A TALE, SINCE IF YOU ONLY GET THEM ON THE RIGHT FOOT, THEN! MAYBE YOUR GAIT ISN'T AS SYMMETRIC AS YOU THOUGHT IT WAS! DUH!

I DON'T KNOW IF THE HOTNESS OF THE GROUND IS A FACTOR IN HOW QUICKLY I GET BLISTERS, IT'S PROBABLY A FACTOR, I TRY TO GO BY THE SHADE BUT IT'S NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE. I WOULD RUN AT NIGHT BUT OBVIOUSLY BAREFOOT RUNNING PUTS A PREMIUM ON ACTUALLY BEING ABLE TO SEE WHAT YOU'RE STEPPING ON, THAT LITTLE PEBBLE YOU CAN JUST IGNORE WITH SOLES IS A BIGGER DEAL ON YOUR BARE TOE.

MENTAL NOTE, BRING ALONG A BANDAID OR TWO JUST IN CASE.
