Hey peeps,
Who's up for brewing on Sunday the 18th of October?

On deck:
1) King Solomon's Gold (aka Brew of the Magi) - frankincense, myrrh, and saffron old ale (maybe Majool dates?)
2) Perhaps Tropical Thunder (aka Swimsuit-Episode brau)? - coconut hefeweizen (complete with banana notes!)

Post up and we'll go ahead if enough people are

brewing

Patty and I are in. Let me know what additional equipment you need.
Oxygenation device at least.

I could really use the grain-crusher. As for the oxygenator, don't you need to be using that for the barley-wine? =P

Thanks, btw.

Ok, I'll make sure to bring the grain crusher.

As for the oxygenator, the answer is no, I've already used it in the barley-wine, and if I use it again, it will only be to oxygenate the yeast starter, if I make one.

Anyway, it wouldn't really matter if I brought it, as it's only used for 1-2 minutes right before pitching the yeast, and would be going home with me regardless.

Oh, and your hydrometer/sample tube. I tossed the malfunctioning one we had. I was so curious about the efficiency of our partial mash that I picked up some iodine and pH paper. Seeing as we generally only add half to one lb of enzyme-rich malt, I don't think we'll have full conversion, but who knows?

Heads up, Patty is sick with the flu, so if she infects me, I will not be showing up for brewing.
