Care Bears: Big Wish Movie
Ok - maybe I shouldn't lay judgment after only watching about 5 minutes - but I just can't help it - seeing this on TV just made me feel like it was my responsibility to warn others. Anyway the plot summary from imdb is:
Feeling sad that her fellow Care Bears don't seem to appreciate her wishes, Wish Bear uses her wish star, Twinkers, to find some bears who love wishing as much as she does. That's when three new bears move to Care-a-lot...with some very unexpected results.
The 3 new bears being "Too-loud" Bear, Me Bear and Messy Bear, as to why he's not just Loud Bear, I donno. Me bear seem to be the only one of them that seems to be actually bad. The other 2 just seem more misguided by Me Bear's bossy and lazy nature.
Now my problems with this movie are 2 fold:
1) Cartoon bears should not be in 3D - and I'm not talking cel-shaded 3D - everything looks like they got a bunch of the Carebear plush toys and paraded them around.
2) Wish Bear is a guy - sure giving the Carebears effeminate voices would be perfectly within the realm of acceptability - but who in their right mind casts Sugar as Wish Bear, because I don’t think you could get more feminine than Sugar. It just boggles the mind.
Verdict: 2/10 - Unless you’re 6 or under, just avoid it.
