I just finished week 3 of school, which seems alright, but it's way harder than south. The school has block scheduling, which means one day I have 4 classes (an hour and a half each) and the next I have the other four. So I'm curious, did you do a ton of math over the summer? what math are you in this year? So far calculus is really easy, but it's kind of interesting. chinese class is really weird. Here's the first story we learned:
Jane zhan4 qi3 lai2
Jane peng4 yi2 xia4 zhuo1 zi
Zhuo1 zi zuo4 xia4 le

Jane stands up
Jane hits her desk once
She sits down

Like what the heck, why do they teach us those as the first words? we've done a little harder stuff but there's some really stupid kids in that class... Hardest class by far is AP US history. I just had my first test for apush today, 30 minute essay on:

"Analyze the cultural, religious and economic responses of TWO of the following groups to the Indians of North America before 1750."
British
French
Spanish

They give us about two hours of homework for that class every day... but my bus ride to school is one hour each way, so sometimes I can work on the bus.
Over the summer we went up to Dalian and Changchun. In Changchun, they were opening a new hospital or something, and my dad knew someone who knew someone, and we got invited to a chinese banquet (my brother didn't come) and they put my parents in a differnt room, so I was left with 8 old chinese guys who sort of spoke english, getting drunk and offering me hard liquor as they practiced their [drunk] english on me. Actually it was kind of fun. Everything I saw was really cool though. China is just so different from everything else.
