hello boys and girls! this is a little reminder post about my fundraiser for haiti!
like i had said in the previous entry, this fundraiser goes directly towards helping the children of jacmel, haiti by using the funds to build a children's center. here, the kids will be able to have something to eat, a way to learn and a place to sleep. many of the kids live in tents, orphaned by the earthquake a few years ago. they walk miles just to get something to eat at the current children's center which is just too small to feed them all. this one, when it's finished, will help over a hundred kids and also be fully self-sustainable. these kids really need it. and if i reach my $5,000 goal, i will be able to personally volunteer in the building efforts of this children's center in haiti myself. help these kids, and help me be the change in the world i always wanted to be.
as of this posting - i've raised $1,215 dollars! i have been working hard with finding donors online and through family and friends, aaaand with small fundraising events (i'm trying to find a venue to host bigger ones.. it's been a long process). i've had a lot of help from people who send my link on to others who send it around as well, and it's just amazing to see it all happen. i even have a few offline checks being sent in that will be posted when the random acts organization receives them as well.
right now my goal is simple for the month of march. i want to hit $2,000 by the end of the month. help me get there, you guys!
if you can, please donate
here at my crowdrise page (safe, secure, tax deductible). even something as small as ten dollars (the crowdrise minimum) helps immensely. if you have another form of payment too, let me know. checks are a slow process but totally accepted and we can even work something out with paypal as well.
you'll definitely get something out of it. outside of the tax deduction you'll get, you will also get a special thank you from me - i'll mail those all out when it gets close to the end of the fundraiser. and if you make a donation of $26 dollars or more, you get entered to win an ipad 2 by crowdrise.
i'm also running an auction this week - ending sunday - of all the autographs i had from salute to supernatural burbank this year. the bids are still pretty low compared to the value of an autograph ticket at the convention - so you're getting an awesome deal! check it out
here and bid away! i'm providing the shipping myself, and the entire proceeds go straight to my crowdrise page for haiti. so what do you have to lose? nothing! you're gaining an autograph, a thank you from me, and a tax deduction - not to mention a warm fuzzy feeling inside to know you helped so much.
if you can't donate, please help by sharing my links around! maybe someone you know, or your livejournal, tumblr or twitter followers might be interested in making a contribution to the cause!
thank you everyone for helping so far, and for continuing to help!
