Cookies and Twilight. My week has gone by fairly uneventfully. I can't remember the last time I posted, but I doubt you're missing anything too amazing. I've just read through Twilight, and while it's not Chekhov or Hemingway there's definitely one thing that I can't deny. It's literary crack, I know it's not that good but I can't stop reading. If I were actually reading a book, I'd say it's a page turner. I guess it's a page scroller being a pdf. I mean... I paid good money for the entire Twilight Series. Absolutely. not. Anyways, I'm still reading the other books, but I'm pleased my opinions haven't changed too much; I was moderately scared that it would be some monster that turned me into a twihard. *shudder*
Today I went down to VIU and ordered a transcript for my re-registration with UVIC, yay ^-^ I've got the GPA I need and it's been a calendar year. September 2010 here I come! I'm pretty excited, also classes are almost over so it's almost time for me to be able to get a job. And a job means money, which means fun stuff like saving up for school, aaaaaand taking some of it and SHOPPING! I've realized I'm rather fond of shopping, since it's a large thing on my cloud of TAGs. I do it a lot, I guess I don't have to try on 8 millions outfits and talk like a valley girl to love shopping.
Speaking of shopping I did some today, I got a $25 gift card to Winners for my birthday since it opened here just around that time. So I decided to finally spend it. Winners boasts about their amazing items they have for such low prices, because they get surplus from other retailers and what not. So you can find Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and DKNY reject clothes. And, of course, if you find anything that you would actually wear it's probably still upwards of $80 or $90. Lindsay taught me the fun game of playing Find the Ugliest shoe, today it was a tie between some animal print sequin flats and just really heinous heels from Dollhouse.
I ended up buying a yoga mat, since any clothes I liked turned out to be $80+, and I didn't like any of the sunglasses. So I got a yoga mat, and a bag for it. I didn't manage to pick up one in my trademark colour, since the only green ones they had were kind of plain. There was one that I liked, but the texture looked icky (sorry if I'm getting too technical for you). So I got a purple one, and the bag is just beige so my mom and I are going to try and dye it green one day. The mat came with a dvd work out thing, which I think I might try one day but I got the mat more so because one of the things I intended to spend some money on is taking up Bikram Yoga here in downtown Duncan.
I'm pretty excited for it, when Chris' exams start I'm going to try out their week long introductory deal, $20 to drop in on any of the classes for 7 days. Then once I've got a job, I'm gonna get a 3 month unlimited deal for the summer. Hot yoga during the summer, I know the irony. But I'm gonna go the river a lot too hopefully. I also want to take lessons of some sort over the summer, I just haven't decided whether I should go for guitar lessons or driving lessons. Mike asked me what I was doing this summer today, and since I was walking around Duncan I thought about it a lot today. I'd like to work somewhere downtown, so I can drop in on a class before work and again after work on my way home. Maybe I'll practice riding my bike on routes with hills... or not that could be disastrous.
Tonight I had the first of my last 3 scriptwriting classes, it was yet again listening to 3 six minute plays and talking about them for an hour each play... Lucy randomly decided to become my spell checker. Gave me a hard time about spelling some words wrong, and made a whole scene in front of the whole gigantic class of 15. I'm horribly conspicuous at VIU. My excuse is I'm used to being in a class of over 100, which is mostly true (save for MUS 101 where there was like 20 of us) Lucy's in both of my classes, and she gives me a hard time about it. I sharpen my pencil a lot mainly, which means walking across the room and using that old fashioned noisy grinder sharpener. But it was the last workshop, next class we'll get taking notes on screenwriting and then writing our own screenplay. Then it's all over! Quite exciting. I came home and was just going to do my silly aerobics video and head to sleep but my mom wanted cookies, I guess I started her on a bad habit haha. So this week I decided since it was Mike's turn to have a double midterm day just like Chris had last week, I would make his favourite cookies again. So I just finished those, I made a giant last cookies like I always do and totally got caught up in writing this and let it burn :( so Chris doesn't get a special cookie this time.
Now I'm just starting to pack everything up for the weekend, gots ta bring down the xbox for after HvZ celebrations. But otherwise it's the same ole packing list. Still, I better get on it so I can get up early enough to pick up my transcript from VIU on my way down to Victoria. Goodnight all.
The game.
