Fix-it Fic Rec, and an update on upcoming fic by me
I have so much squee for this one: Autumn Days That Make You Feel Sad, by starletfallen. A short but sweet JE fix-it story that has everything going for it: beautiful writing, a lovely and poignant take on the Doctor from Donna's point of view, and a twist at the end that's just a little bit ambiguous, but full of hope.
The above was written for the still-brilliant Donnathon, which I too have signed up for! My first ficathon! My prompt lies behind the cut for spoiler safety...
Donna takes all those brilliant clerical, administrative and office-centric skills, and combines them with the investigative skills she picked up from traveling with the Doctor to become a fully licensed private eye.
Since I had already started working on a fic along similar lines, and deadlines are good for the soul. Stay tuned, Whovians. This is looking to be a multi-chaptered deal, but with the cooperation of the muses I should be able to get the whole thing up by the deadline (8/31).
I also have a Buffy crossover brewing, that takes place early in Series 2 of New Who: Rose and the Doctor land in Sunnydale, and Buffy mistakes the Doctor for her new Watcher.
One day, eventually, I'll also go back and expand and revise the fic I wrote for the "power" challenge over at wintercompanion, though that keeps getting pushed further back. It's here, for interested parties.
