ahh, i'm glad it didn't turn out the usual i-hate-you-and-i-want-revenge and jae playing the damsel-in-distress here :x jae seems pretty strong, even though he once loved junnie ;_;
so the last part's going to be jae+ho recollection? oO
i like this, it's short but not overly melodramatic like some tend to get and it talks about jae's past and compares it with his present and stuff ^^ and there's ho playing jae's herald! XDDDDD
ah sweetie, the best thing is a broken-healed jae! ::::many hugs:;: such a good story. good tension and regrets. short and succinct cutting between characters and great pacing. i love their interaction and then the explosion of emotion.
bel explaine what I feel far better than I could myself, love *smirks* Clever, girl, that bel. I wholeheartedly agree, though. I like strong Jae much better than uke "Oh, I'm so weak and need my Yunnie to save me" Jae. This setting and plotline feels so much more genuine, gritty, and realistic. I love it when writers aren't afraid to touch on the taboo beyond the ghei (uh-dur...cuz we loves the slash). But I really have a huge soft-spot for streetrat Jae. He's just so much more human like this, especially the way you write him *snuggles helzfyah*. He's not too melodramatic and in constant need of Yunho the almighty savior. This works in some fics, but it gets old after a while--and I mean this in no offense to any other DBSK fic writers out there or in this comm. Your writing is very fresh and I'm truly enjoying every word of it. I honestly can't wait for the next, and unfortunately yet understandably the last chapter of this ficlet. I apologize if my comments are somewhat off-par, I wish I could express myself more...I dunno...
( ... )
i do agree with you. the blend of the strong and weak in jae is tantamount to a good story. the conflict of his two sides drives so much of this story. both sin and salvation.
helzfyah has captured that so well. :::nods::: fully agree with the tea_biscuit!
Oh no - you explained yourself as creatively, sufficiently and out loud(-ly? whatever) as I need. I completely understand what you mean. And I've fallen victim to the 'uke-jae' syndrome before as well. And while I love uke Jae to bits... I needed to get away and write a stronger Jae. Because absolutely no one can say that Jae isn't strong (his trainee days are testament enough). Thanks for reading and enjoying this. And we share the same soft-spot for streetrat Jae (I fell in love with him the moment I found out about his past.)
Whoopsiedaisy! Forgot to mention that I absolutely adore Hyejun. I think he's got a wonderful depth and edge to him that translates beatifully across the page. He serves as a great co-narrator or sorts, shining more light onto Jae's past and personality, and at the same tugging and pushing at Jae enough to get him to speak openly himself. GAH! I've been fumbling with my words lately. I can't seem to really say what I want to. It all sounds better in my head. Aigoo...*bows*
The tone of this piece is wonerful, and I feel maybe a bit of resolution between Jaejoong and Hyejun(?). Hopefully they have found some common ground in coming to terms with their past.
And I am also one of the lovers of Hyejun. His character compliments Jae's so well, both reflecting each other's strengths and weaknesses. And your Jae is strong, a subtle, silent strength that flows in his actions and words, a strength that is often overlooked in the fandom. Jae loved, was broken, healed, and moved on. And Hyejun is still trapped in his own self deprecating doubts. But they are both strong. And I appreciate seeing these types of characters written.
Okay /end seriousness now. Gimme some Jaeho in the next section. I know it's gonna be good, whatever occurs bewteen them. Trying to patiently wait :X
Thanks for your wonderful comment. And I'm very pleased to know that you like Hyejun and that he's reaching his audience. Because, yeah, while he's done some regrettable things, he's not a bad person at all.
