Hello All!
Yep I'm BACK! A whole month away and there's LOADS to catch up on.
Most importantly, I told my parents about Neil and they came up last weekend and met him! We were all a bit nervous but it went really well. Neil was so sweet, he made an effort and put on a new shirt! And Mum put on her new outfit for the occasion too. We drove up to Sheringham to pick N up and then he showed us the way to the pub he'd booked and we all had a big Sunday roast. Mum thinks he's very nice - how lil she knows! haha :-p to you N!!! *big smile*
Also, I have started work at Norwich Union, and it's brill. Full of characters. Simon the tea boy (he's actually one of the managers), Wendy the trainer, CJ (Coenrad Johannes de Villier) and Roeun to his parents!, Gavin the Joker, Mandy the scary boss who wears flipflops, and Lucy the jargon-marker. Has all been very interesting - despite the low pay. I'm just trying to get on top of my rent, save for another deposit (though hopefully I won't need it) and then, yes, it's going to start all over again looking for a new place. I love where I live, but I've been thinking and I've made the decision to still look around and see if I can negotiate something better anyway.
Then there has been the Mercy nightclub episode. Me resigning, having to put in writing why I can't give more than a week's notice etc. I found out today that I have got paid though which is FANTASTIC as now my bank balance is under £1000 OD. Am making it a top ambition to get out of being over-drawn before I have to start paying back my student loan which I reckon should be in about 6months time when I get a pay-rise. Am still torn between whether I should work hard at NU and get lots of money or whether I should get into journalism or something. There's a few options open but I haven't decided yet. Too many big decisions!
Also, I have my very own landline now, hurrah! I also have a new mobile. It's small, tucks nicely in my palm, and is a silver Samsung. I didn't buy it, I was given it! :-p So where is everybody? Where's you Greggo? And the Cheese Master? Say hi to your sis Maz who I saw is now an LJ person!
OK, so what else? Hmm... *thinks* well, N has started playing hockey again and will be every Sat til the end of the season now. My parents are off on hols next week to sunny Spain. Did I tell you Nath rang me up? Well yeh he did a couple of weeks back, wants me to go with him and see Dad at Christmas. But I'm not thinking about that until the time comes. Too confusing. Am still typing up my resignation for Above Sodding Bar. Is v difficult though, keep getting pissed off as I write it at the bloody congregation there who treated my parents so badly. I am still too disgusted at Christians to go to Church, it's been a rocky time for me these last couple of years because almost every Christian I've known has been - well, what I guess the common experience of them usually is...and many times I've denied that I'm one of them. Though I have said now and again that I am, very quietly, to people I'm getting to know better. the hardest part about becoming a Christian is definitely, despite what the preachers tell you, admitting you're one of THEM. I wish there was some other way of saying that I believe in Jesus without having to be classed as a judgemental twat with a huge stick up their arse but no, it's the fate of us all. Hmm, what a strange thing to say! *reads back over what just written and laughs out loud at self* haha, what do you think - I could just send that off as my resignation of membership letter eh? hahahaha! OK, cynicism aside and...
...on to more update! Yup thanks for visiting me a coupla weeks back Maz, sorry had to work most of the weekend though. But I promise I won't be working when you next come up! So more time for fun and partying. CJ wants to meet you, he's pretty heavy into metal and you know what? He's at the Derby festival this very weekend! ;-)
Did I tell you I am also now an accomplished chef?!!! Hehehaha. Well, not EX-ACT-LY. What I mean is that I'm getting good at this cooking thing! As N will testify. Been making lots of dins recently, cottage pie, chilli con carne...etc. Mmm! Will have to cook you another Helsby speciality sometime when you come up next chum! ;-)
Aargh, just remembered got pork-pie in fridge and my tummy is sooooooooo hungry so I'd better be off now mi dears and gobble it up! Just want to say thanks again for all the letters, emails and trips up to see me, you're brill! Lots of love from the one and only Helrus, x
